Diocesan Bishop:
The Right Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld

Bishop A. Robert Hirschfeld has served as the Tenth Bishop in the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire since August 2012. Bishop Rob provides spiritual oversight to the 46 congregations and 8 seasonal chapels that are part of the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement in the Granite State. He also serves as President, ex officio, of the Board of Trustees to Episcopal School: Holderness.

Previously, Bishop Rob served as Rector of Grace Church, Amherst, Massachusetts, St. Mark’s Chapel at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, and Christ Church, New Haven, CT.  He has a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College (English and French) and a Master of Divinity from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale where he was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity. 

Bishop is the author of two books, “With Sighs Too Deep For Words: Grace and Depression” and “Without Shame or Fear: from Adam to Christ.

He is married to Polly M. Ingraham, and they have three children.  He reads, and occasionally writes poetry, paints in mixed media, and sculls on the Merrimack River.

Rector:
The Rev. Father Skippy HoSM, LT CHC USN (Ret.)

Father Skippy is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Concordia University Texas in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Psychology, and then from The School of Theology of The University of the South in 2018 with a Master of Divinity. Father Skippy was ordained  priest on the feast day of Saint Macrina the Lesser in 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Davenport, Iowa by their Right Reverends Alan Scarfe (Iowa), Carl Wright (Armed Forces and Federal Ministries), and the Most Reverend Samual Peni (Western Equatoria). He is also a Member of the Hospitallers of Saint Martin. Father Skippy was commissioned and served as a Navy Chaplain Candidate Program Officer from 2016 to 2020 before taking a superseding commission as an active duty Navy Chaplain, serving as such from 2020 until his military retirement in 2023 from a service related injury.

Father Skippy has been our priest since Lent of 2023, and is known for his care, candor, and his desire that all people would be comforted by the love of God revealed to us in Jesus Christ our Lord. He is especially passionate about mental health care and awareness, homelessness and home security, and veteran issues. He also serves as a diocesan Intake Officer.

Father Skippy first served as a priest assigned to Trinity Cathedral in Davenport, Iowa, serving as the Cathedral’s Curate for Pastoral Care and Outreach from 2018 to 2020. He was then assigned as Command Chaplain of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from 2020 to 2023, providing religious ministry support to the shipyard and other commands in the area, including: Submarine Squadron Two, SERE East, USS Constitution (IX-21), Naval Health Clinic New England, Naval Detachment Bath Iron Works, and NTAG New England. He continues his service to our nation as a volunteer member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

His personal awards are the Navy Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism, and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medals.

Father Skippy has two children.
